Martin had only 10 days to build the Vogon spacecraft.

Martin contemplates the finished Vogon Ship. Built in only one week (!) it was a real trial to get it done on time. The vogon ship in the studio ready for photographing.

Martin and Jan Bower worked on the Interior set of the "Heart of Gold" ship. It was built to 1/18th scale, with the actors superimposed afterwards in the final photos used in the book. The multiple viewscreens were made from 35mm slide mount containers! It has incorporated plumbers fittings, EMA dish heads (for the fountain bowls) and a spiral staircase made from brass rod.

Slartibartfast's car under construction. As with the "Vogon" ship, I had very little time to make it in. It was made from wood, "Isopon" car filler, plastic tube and an egg-shaped canopy, made in two halves, vac-formed over a Jelutong Wood mould.
