The full-size Tripod legs at Friday Street in Surrey SFX crew in diving suits had to set up steel scafolding rigs underwater to support these legs. In the final shot my 6ft model was superimposed onto these legs, giving the appearance that a huge full-size Tripod was standing in the lake.

I did this shot of the small 11 inch high Tripod models before their delivery to the studio. I made 2 squatting models and 3 standing models. They were made of fibreglass and EMA plastic and brass tubing. In the show they were mostly used for shots where Tripods were seen in the distance.

Two of the principal child actors watch as a third tests out the full-size Tripod's claw used to lift him into the Tripod for the capping ceremony.
