Making the mould for the top "dome" of the UFO from "Isopon" car filler over a polyurethane foam former.

At over 8" in diameter, the top dome was too big to "turn" on the lathe, so I stuck it to my bench sander with doulble sided tape and sanded it smooth this way

The completed top and bottom moulds (made from "Isopon" P38 polyester car filler) and the circular plywood formers the moulds were pushed through when heated to form the 2 clear "domes" needed

Casualties of the moulding process! It took me 3 goes to get the bottom "dome" moulded without breaking the "Perspex"!

Turning" the UFO's centre hub in "Isopon" car filler on the lathe.

The central sections of the UFO once they were turned

The supports for the "paddles" can be seen lying beside 3 that are stuck in place on the central hub. (Note the 2 clear moulded "domes" in the background).

All the "paddle" supports stuck in place.
